Whoosh Explore Paddle Power Courses
We run paddle power courses during the summer holidays and on Saturday mornings and at a local swimming pool near Bishops Stortford during the Autumn and Winter. Start by gaining paddling experience at the pool and then take part in on of our kids paddling courses on the river. We have a range of river and lake sessions as well as trips planned to help you gain your awards and qualifications. 
  • Paddle Power is a youth centred approach to developing your paddling skills.
  • Sessions are aimed to develop your paddling skills from beginner to advanced. 
  • Gain paddling skills at your own pace and work through the scheme as you develop your skills
  • Develop your skills in the swimming pool and on the river 
  • Whoosh Explore also work with local schools and organisations to deliver canoeing courses. 
  • We deliver short taster sessions for small school groups and can develop paddling packages to suit your requirements. 
We run paddling sessions at Redricks lake each Saturday morning from 9.30am to 12.30. We offer coaching and development activities trips on the River Lee and River Stort .

Kids River Stort paddles are also available during school holidays and normally start at 10.00am-12.30, We can also arrange with parents to provide coaching sessions for parents that have work commitments, please contact us if you would like to organise a full days paddling/sailing session during the school holidays.

Kids Paddle Club for Kids on River Stort/Lee
We ware running a holiday of fun for young paddlers, these are all day paddles at the centre where we will be offering multi activity day experiences each day for paddlers aged 9 and over.

The following courses are offered as part of our kids paddling sessions. These paddle sport  qualifications are great  young people looking to develop skills at the club

Paddle Power Start
This is a course to get you started in paddling. Learn to paddle forwards and backwards and be in control of your boat
We run sessions at 9.30 on a Saturday and 10am and 1 pm throughout the school holidays. join us for as many sessions as you like.
£12.50 per paddler per session 

Paddlepower Passport
This course will build on the skills you have developed on the Start paddling course, we will be paddling on short river trips and taking part in paddling with different types of canoe and Kayak on this course covering Safety Awareness,Paddling skills,Varied Experiences,and Supporting Knowledge

Paddlepower Discover
Discover the delights to be had by paddling your own boat and developing skills in canoeing and kayaking and exploring the local rivers by canoe This course will develop your journeying skills and make you a far more confident and self sufficient paddler
It normally takes 6-7 sessions to complete the paddlepower Start course  this follows on from passport 

Paddlepower Explore
Supporting different levels takes the paddler on an extensive journey exploring the great variety of Paddle Sport, with topics focused on participation in events and journeys in the competitive and non competitive disciplines.

Paddlepower Excel
Three levels to test the paddler on all elements of paddlesport includng being a resposible for self and others, participation in journeys,coaching sessions,training in a variety of disaplines,background knowledge of the sport: access, rules, environment
£35 per day
Introduction to Paddling  Swimming pool sessions

Pool sessions are a great way to introduce young people into paddling and allow time for them to build up confidence. Whoosh Explore offer taster sessions in the pool to help you devlop your paddling technique
During sessions a responsible adult must supervise children on sessions. 
(parents should assist in paddling sessions with younger children under 9.)
