FAQ

What equipment do I need to bring?
We have Boats, paddles,  Dry Bags Buoyancy aids and Spray decks available for your paddling session at Whoosh Explore.

What should I wear?
Trainers or wet boots to protect feet, long sleeved top to avoid stinging nettles along the bank, Jogging or Yoga pants are best, or polyester type clothes that dry quickly for spring or autumn paddles a spare waterproof or cagoule is useful.

What is the best boat? 
Canoes are designed for two or three paddlers and Kayaks are suitable for single paddlers.  

What time do I arrive to paddle? 
We start getting equipment out at 9.30am on a Saturday ( often we paddle at 10.30am on a Sunday)

Can I paddle with my children?
We have open canoes and equipment suitable for young paddlers to paddle with one or both parents

Can my child paddle a kayak?
I have young paddlers wanting to take part, whats the best age for them to start paddling 
Young paddlers  can paddle from about 8 years old in a kayak, if its a wet and windy day they can find paddling a challenge.
We have small boats for them to try out and offer pool sessions over the winter.
Under 9 year olds will need to paddle with a responsible person who is willing to be responsible for them and their boat on the river.

How many people can If it into a kayak?
we have only one person kayaks our two person boats are canoes and we have an option of one, two and 3 person open canoes.
